PostHeaderIcon Can someone explain how a Living Will works?

Like, in depth! How do you go about receiving what was left to you by a friend/relative, and how about becoming a legal guardian over a minor whose parents were killed and have no family? I need as much detail as possible. Thanks!
That’s what I meant, Dude. Thanks.I was trying to keep it short! :)
As explained in the question, how do you go about receiving what was LEFT to you by a relative.

PostHeaderIcon My wife didn’t have a living will or an advance directive?

I had been in charge of my wifes medical treatment for several years and my wife didn’t have a living will or an advance directive and the hospital let another family member sign papers to end life support. The hospital was lied to by family members who said that me and my wife were going through a divorce which we wasn’t and they didn’t have any proof but the hospital let it happen any way. I was notified after my wife had passed away. This happened in West Virginia and I am trying to find out what legal rights I have and against whom.
