How can I make my living will override my life insurance?
I have SGLI (Servicemember’s Group Life Insurance), and I want everything I have/will earn to go to someone other than who I listed as beneficiaries.
My girlfriend will have my son in 4 months. So can I make it so that all my money goes to him when he’s born if I die before then? And I can’t contact the SGLI office, I want to write a will saying “If I were to die, I would like all my money/future monetary earnings to go to my son”. Will this legally override who I put on my SGLI form?
In short I want everything to go to my son when he’s born if I died before then and nothing to go to who I PREVIOUsly stated for all my money to go to. Will it be legal or will they say “Oh well he’s not on the SGLI so these people get the money instead”?
So would it legally override what I put on my insurance forms?? I just want to make sure
I clean offices for a living, will my liability insurance be a lot more expensive if I clean restaurants?
I pay $1300 a year right now but it is only for a office/residential policy? What would I be looking at?
I thought it was odd that my so called agent said it would be considerably higher?
People out there who work for a living…?
…how do you feel about people with no experience or knowledge who try to lay their own gas or electrical lines – who try to add on a room without help or advice, try to do complicated car engine repairs or similar things?
Isn’t it possible that the reading of complex medical legal forms and government bills should be left to the people with the knowledge, experience and education to understand what they are reading?
The politicians have read all these bills by now, I guarantee you, and also sat in weeks and months of all the negotiations that led to them!
You think they don’t know what’s in the Bills?
Isn’t there likely to be more damage that good caused?
Ha ha, I knew somebody would try that tactic. Obama has an advanced law degree, worked for law firms for many years, and served as US Senator. He knows plenty about the law and government, and is smart enough to have good advisors and actually listen to them for a change.
jax – no law and especially contract law is very complicated – it CAN’T be written in language everybody can understand, anymore than complex books about advanced MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS can be written in language everybody can understand.
DM – yes protest is damaging if it’s all based on false claims! People are being used!
Army? HMOs? They are against the healthcare regulation, not for it.
And Sindel – give me time to explain why this interpretation of your obscure paragraph is also wrong.
Sindel – you got a page number? I tried searching the Bill for it and nothing is coming up for that title?
Anyway, all it seems to be is figuring out how much an individual owes back if they got treated when they did not have ANY insurance!!!
Isn’t that a legitimate thing to address? Otherwise why would people pay for the government insurance, or private for that matter?
No soup for you!

Would it be legal to jointly own a car?
Live in a complex for retirees and those with disabilities, each of us struggling with gas prices, worried about the condensation that forms within gas tanks that aren’t full anymore. Is it legally possible we could share a car, each have a set of keys, make a schedule, share the full tank, checking who else might wanna go along the day we need errands, thereby cutting our insurance costs too?
